TFT Set 13: Release Date

TFT 2024 roadmap

According to the official TeamFight Tactics 2024 Roadmap, TFT Set 13 will be released sometime during Q4 of 2024.

According to the in-game TFT Set 12 Battle Pass timer, TFT Magic N' Mayhem should end on November 18, 2024, putting TFT Set 13 in prime position to have a release date of November 20. Before Set 12 wraps up, players can try the new TFT set early through a beta phase. Based on past sets, the Public Beta Environment (PBE) for TFT Set 13 is expected to go live around November 6, about two weeks before the official launch. The testing phase usually lasts around 2-3 weeks, giving players enough time to experiment with new champions, traits, and mechanics before the official release.

Since the PBE is still in development, you might run into bugs, connection issues, and other hiccups while testing the new set. Also, remember that progress on your Battle Pass won't count while you're playing the TFT new set on the PBE.

If you've been grinding your TFT rank, now's the time to concentrate on those final matches and climb the ranked ladder before Set 12 wraps up. Any upcoming changes for TFT Set 13 will be posted in the official patch notes, which will be available in the League of Legends client, so stay tuned!

TFT Set 13: Theme

The exact theme for the new TFT set is still a mystery, with the TFT Roadmap only teasing us with three golden question marks.

This ambiguity leaves it entirely up to players' imaginations as to what the next set might bring. However, with Set 13 going live around the same time as Arcane Season 2, there's speculation that the new set might feature some characters or mechanics inspired by the Netflix animated series—possibly even a return of systems like Chemtech or Hextech.

If you've been living under a rock and don't know what Arcane is, let us bring you up to speed. Arcane is a Netflix animated series inspired by the League of Legends universe, focusing on the origins behind some of the game's most iconic characters.

Arcane centers on two contrasting cities: the wealthy, utopian Piltover and the oppressed, gritty undercity of Zaun. The story follows two sisters, Vi and Jinx, torn apart through conflict and struggles for power. What sets Arcane apart is the stunning visuals and complex plot, breathing new life into these beloved champions.

An Arcane-themed crossover with TFT would be a fantastic way for Riot to increase engagement across all their games. It could tie in nicely with the release of Ambessa Medarda, a main character in Arcane, while keeping players excited about both TFT and League of Legends. With Arcane Season 2 debuting soon, a crossover would be the perfect way to keep the hype train rolling and community engagement high.

If Riot goes down the route of an Arcane crossover, here are some key characters that could appear in TFT Set 13.

  • Jinx
  • Vi
  • Caitlyn
  • Jayce
  • Victor
  • Heimerdinger
  • Ekko
  • Singed
  • Sevika

There are also some characters from Piltover and Zaun that have yet to debut on Arcane, including Warwick, Blitzcrank, Camille, Darius, Swain, Zeri, Urgot, Twitch, Renata Glasc, and Dr. Mundo.

It has been confirmed we'll be seeing Powder and Ambessa Medarda units, as well as Arcane-themed Tacticians being released, like Chibi Caitlyn.

TFT Set 13: Gameplay & Mechanics

Although Set 13 is still over a month away, the community is more hyped than ever. Fans are already buzzing with speculation about what the TFT new set will offer and if it'll beat the last patch from Magic N' Mayhem.

Unfortunately, we don’t have any concrete details on the new mechanics or gameplay features coming with TFT Set 13. However, with the TFT Set 12 Global Championship expected to kick off in late October or early November, we can likely look forward to Riot Games getting officially involved in the TFT Set 13 release date hype, with teasers and some concrete information straight from the horse's mouth.

While Riot Games has a history of shaking up the meta with every new set—and even with mid-sets updates—it's possible they’ll bring back some of the popular mechanics from Set 12, like Charms and Augments.

Regarding items, we might see standard options like Infinity Edge, Ionic Spark, Blue Buff, Jeweled Gauntlet, Thief's Gloves, and Rabadon's Deathcap make a return. With the potential Arcane tie-in, items like the Hextech Revolver and Hextech GLP-800 could also reappear, staying true to the theme.

Final Thoughts

As TFT Set 12 winds down, many players are eagerly anticipating the fresh items and varied team compositions that Set 13 will bring for both early-game and late-game strategies. If you're looking to stay ahead of the curve in the new TFT set, it's a good idea to dive straight into the PBE to get a head start in understanding the meta.

As usual, Riot Games will keep their cards close to their chest, dropping only tiny teasers to keep the community guessing. Be on the lookout for more details as we get closer to Set 13's release date of November 20, 2024—expect more info to drop here as the launch gets closer!
